FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q.  IS THERE WARRANTY ON VINYL FENCE?

NoSwett Fencing uses vinyl products from Kroy. They carry a limited lifetime warranty on their vinyl.  This warranty does transfer to the new owner in the event you sell your house or business.  NoSwett Fencing carries a 2 year warranty on the installation of your fence, which does not cover wear and tear on gates.

Q. WILL I NEED A BUILDING PERMIT?

Most cities and towns do require a building permit for new fences or decks. Columbus requires a permit for both fences and decks, while Norfolk requires a permit for decks only.  NoSwett Fencing takes care of building permits for Columbus.  However, due to the fact every town or city is different, it is the homeowner’s responsibility to get the required permits outside of Columbus.

Q.  DO I NEED TO CALL DIGGERS HOTLINE?

It is the law that diggers hotline must be called before any digging can be done.  However, NoSwett Fencing takes care of this as we get your job worked into our schedule.  Diggers hotline only locates public utilities.  It is the homeowner’s responsibility to locate any private lines, sprinkler lines and sprinkler heads.  NoSwett Fencing is not responsible for any unmarked private lines or sprinkler systems.

Q. CAN I INSTALL MY OWN FENCE?

Yes.  NoSwett Fencing sells everything for your fencing needs, from a cap to a complete fence.  Provide us with a drawing with dimensions of what you need and our fabricators will manufacture your fence and let you know when it is ready to pick up.

Q. HOW TALL CAN MY FENCE BE?

As with the building permit, every city has its own ordinance on fence height.  Here in Columbus the maximum height for a residential fence is 6′. Most towns and cities do have the 6′ limit, however, we recommend you call your local building inspector or city office to find out the ordinance in your city or town.
